Semantic Web

The semantic web is a "behind-the-scenes" technology that enables the user to have a better online experience. The goal of W3C is to combine information on the web. After attempting a "W3C Search for Dummie's", I learned that the difference between Web2.0 and the semantic web, is that Web 2.0 is all about people and communication, whereas semantic web is all about the machines. (webopedia). Beyond that, I feel like I might be experiencing data overload.
